The Coastal Schooner is part of a wider scheme of interpreting Saundersfoot's industrial and maritime heritage, as well as the current significance of its coastal location.

The schooner is a life-size three-masted tall ship and features a maritime heritage centre that encompasses life on board a coastal sailing schooner, as well as the maritime history of Pembrokeshire and Wales, including trade, migration, piracy and smuggling. The experience featured layered information and interpretation techniques to engage as many visitor types as possible including sensory triggers [sound, light, smell] to suggest being on board a ship.
